All you have to do is save Mazzy. If you add her to your team and then kicks her out, she will tell you where you can find her, (her mother's house), and that updates the map. I think you can also say no to her offer to join with much the same result.

A very interresting discussion this. In my view, Imoen, Jaheira and Khalid are a given. Dynaheir and Minsc are also good choices.

This is a bit of a long shot of course, but if you have reached HLA you might have used the familiar scroll through UAI. If so, then the familiar should be able to talk to anyone.

The golden girdle and (if you can afford it) the robe of the good arch-magi comes to mind. But I think you are set as it is. I tend to be around level 3-4 when I go there, but then I need to use up some potions.

And with a beastmaster the bug gets even bigger. At level 8 you get access to animal summoning 1 as a lvl 1 spell, at level 10 you get A.S.2 as a level 2 spell and at lvl 12 you get access to A.S.3 as a lvl 3 spell (perhaps not as nice as animate dead though). I did much the same thing as CFM, but started as a cleric and dual-classed to a thief when the group needed one. The 7th cleric level is just 15K after Imoen reaches 40K and if you feel that is to much, just wait a little before you change her. I highly recommend this method as the cleric-thief ...

Don't know if anyone remembers this thread, but the answer was that the stats remain the same when you import, even if you pick an avenger. Sort of a bug if you ask me.

The silver Ioun stone puts you up at 24 (Amkethran). For 25 I think you have to be a cleric-thief (to get use any items). That way you can equip the axe of Hrothgar (from Joluv). Observe that without a mod you would have to be human and if there is to be any point you'd have to dualclass rather late ...

No problems. All you need to do is get access to the sphere and Valygar can help you with that dead or alive.

I'd have to say the chaotic neutral swashbuckler (lvl 10) dualed to mage. My reasons are these:
* "Enough" thief skills. There is even room for some pickpocketing.
* Very low AC for a mage. Dakkon Zerth and (** in single) lowers it 3 more.
* Good weapon options, select for perks, not damage. Single ...

Still no answer to the question I'll give up now and find out the answer in a month or so when I get my game back. I'll simply have to play another character until then. Poor me.

Yes, I could do that, but as I started the thread with I have lent my BG2 to a friend of mine. Otherwise I could easily have dualclassed a druid at level 2 and found out myself.
