I know there are times when it will be less clear, like you said. But I think it's okay to "break the speed limit" while shouting for all to stand clear because you're chasing after some monster who has kidnapped the princess, ect..

My wacky, out-there powergaming party. Check it out!
Okay, I know this one is a little weird, but read on through and LMK what I can do to make it better.
NOTE: I will be playing on insane mode to get these dual-classers going!!
1)Human Paladin
(tank from start to finish, nice to have a single classer to just leave alone. Will eventually use ...

I need some advice on a few dual-classed characters
I know, I know, another thread by good ol' krunchy. Humor me. ;) :P
I need some advice on some dual-classed characters, namely a Fighter -> Cleric and a Fighter -> Mage. In the party I have brewing in my head, there is a Paladin and Fighter/Druid muliticlass for healing before I have a Cleric, and ...

Dual Classing: How high do you advance in your first class?
I'm thinking about playing a dual classed character or to instead of a multiclassed character in my potential party. Just curious: If you're going to dual class a Fighter into a spellcaster (Cleric or Mage) how high a level is good to switch at?
I played IWD 2 first, maybe that's why I like it more. I really liked IWD 1 too, though I could never get HoW :( I would love to try that one day. (Time is against me, I know, there's no chance to buy it anymore).

The problem with multiclass characters, especially three classes like the f/m/t, is that they lvl slow. A single class character, including a thief, will lvl quicker. Thieves have more than enough abilities to put points and proficiencies in and some of the HLA aren't bad either.
Also, a ...

Which of these should be my main Mage?
1) Elf Fighter/Mage/Thief
2) Elf Mage/Thief
3) Gnome Illusionist/Thief
4) Human Thief/Mage (dual after level 7 - 10)
I know none of these options produce the "optimum" Mage (which would be single-classed from the start), but I don't want a character like that in this game. I won't find scrolls fast ...

Specialist Mages: are they worth it?
What is your opinion of specialist mages with ToTL installed?
Do the opposing schools make the benefit of an extra spell per level not worth it?
