Hmmm, seems to be an effective party, but from a roleplaying point of view I'd never mix good-aligned and evil-aligned characters. Just a thought...

Thanks to Xyx for the various tips, breach and chaotic commands indeed made this enounter far more manageable and I finally succeeded

Right, that happened to me, too. I think in my case the problem was that I sent in two fire elementals and let them hack on him before he started his dialogue. It seems as long as certain NPC's can't dialogue with you they won't die. Thank god this isn't true for dragons...

Aerie - best allround spellcaster, hands down. Low intelligence can be cancelled via potions. However, she whines too much.

Anomen - Good fighter, medium cleric. When properly equipped, he can be quite a tank. However, he talks too much nonsense.

I encountered the same problem with Bhodi. Put protection from undead on my main character, killed all undead around her and hacked her for some minutes (must have been some 1000 points of damage...), but she refused to die... weird, isn't it?

Well, maybe not everyones solution, but what worked for me was transforming into the slayer and shooting all the magic missiles I could lay my hands on (some WILL get past the demons magic resistance damage)

The only thing I can remember to have lost are the acorns from the nymphs... maybe also an efreeti victim (they *should* be macigal, I guess)

For me it's definitely Jan. I never needed traps so far (which is one of the things Yoshimo can do better than Jan), same for backstabbing. Jan is far better in doing all other thieving tasks like finding / disarming traps and especially pickpocketing. Oh yes, and he also has those neat spells

Not easy... I like to play fighter types (inquisitor and barbarian so far) just because if the damage they cant take. However, most of the NPC's in the game are fighter types anyway so maybe you might want to try something you can NOT get via NPC's. Kensai/mage and monk seem to be quite popular as ...

Depends on the definition of "RPG". If you say an RPG needs quests, character building and so on, then D2 is one. But then, I guess anybody would agree that D2 is missing the depth for a "real" RPG. D2 is a great game as is BG2, but they aren't really comparable

Yes, the trap question hit me too. Sure, with enough HP you just take a fireball or cloudkill trap, but there are some rather nasty traps around that are on-hit-killers. How do you get around them? Saving throws?

Depending how far in the game you are you might also want to visit the guy in the underdark (very south) and one drow merchant in the drow city. Not 100% sure if they have exactly those 2 spells available, but they sell an aweome lot of scrolle
