It's a priest with a few different spells and high level abilities that are really nifty, but the ones you're given (Jaheira and Cernd), aren't that great. It should be a Conjuration/Divination so both schools can use it. I believe there are a few other spells in the game that can be used by by two opposition schools, too. I think Stoneskin is one.

He's just there so you don't get stuck in the game. You need the Shadow Thieves. As craig said, the only way to kill him is by draining his stats. Haer'Dalis has a sword that drains wisdom (I think), and I believe there's also a stat draining weapon that is sold by one of the bonus merchants.

Black Blade of Disaster works too, if you're a mage. Plus there's a chance that the demilich will be disintegrated.

Should I dump Jaheira for Sarevok? It's a hard question for me. Sarevok is a much better fighter, but Jaheira's Druid spells and high level abilities are really cool. Right now I have PC, Minsc, Viconia, Jaheira, and Imoen. What should I do? :o :confused:

Actually, I killed Balthazar in about 5 seconds, I just focused all of my tanks on him and he was dead before Imoen even finished casting her first spell in that battle.
