The computer itself is only a year and a half old...I completely 'flattened' the hard drive before I reinstalled the recovery discs. So, there was absolutely nothing but the original software on it when I actually started putting my stuff on it.

It's an Emachine with an AMD 2200+ Athlon processor ...

SoA Script Error Message

I've been playing BG2 for a while now, and I'm working on the Jaheira/Haer'Dalis quests when I encounter an error message during a small-time battle which reads:

An assertion failed in ChDataTypes.cpp at line number 250

Then, I get kicked out of the game and I have to reopen the game. I don't ...

Personally, I don't understand the romance aspect of the game. Even just using the word 'romance' with respect to a PC game seems just plain wrong...in an Internet porn kind of way (I keed, I keed).

People might defend the notion as being an integral part of the 'roleplaying' experience but if ...

Males get Viconia, Aerie, or Jaheira, but females are stuck with...Anomen. Mind, there are several mods that improve the situation. Some add new NPCs with their own romances; others, like one for Edwin, add a romance element to an existing character. Can't say I've tried that; I've no ...

Romances - any and all questions welcomed!

*ahem*

Could someone please help me out with understanding the romance aspect? I have no idea who can romance whom, and how to make this aspect more fun and interesting.

Hey guys, I'm back from the murky depths of real-life hell! I swear, it's been two years too long!

Hey DW! What's happening, Sister Sledge? Miss me?

I've got one big question...

Is there any way this romance thing can be broken down into a graph or a list of some sort? You know, like who ...

Hmmm...!

This weapon sounds intriguing. As I am still fairly new to the game (had it for a while, but lack of playing time), what IS this weapon, and where does my main character find it?:mischief:

Thanks for your opinions, guys! I really appreciate the input. There are days where I think I am just too damn nice and 'let' things like this happen to me...which is why I was thinking that I need to be more of a hard ass. I have been trying to think of this in a positive light (i.e. Job upgrade ...

Sometimes It Doesn't Pay To Be Good Neutral!

You know...sometimes I think I am too nice because all kinds of crappy stuff happens to me. And I wonder if I 'let' it happen. Let me give you just one example.

The other night, my landlords (my roomie's parents) put a "For Sale" sign on the front lawn...without notice. Now legally, they can do ...

Babies tend to learn more in their first year of life than the next 3 years. Reading her stories is good, or even plopping her in front of Sesame Street can be a good thing, educationally.

If it is nap time and she is cranky, running the vacuum cleaner tends to lull them to sleep. Car rides are fun ...

Magrus, you may want to explain to her that it is ok to wander from her (and your) original intentions with one another. It's ok to explore new territory in your relationship. It's perfectly natural to have your feelings become more intimate with one another. Whoever said that you had to stick to ...

Thanks for your encouragement, DW! I wish 'hurt' was the word. At that exact moment, there wasn't a word in Webster's Dictionary that could describe what I was feeling at the time. Needless to say, I threw the hoochie out the front door (without her clothes) and locked the door. Then I gave him an ...
