Cheese (?)

Note on detect illusions:

If you instruct your character to attack and afterwards hit the detect traps (illusions) button, then your character will do both actions at the same time.

Sort of like walking and detecting traps at the same time.

I suppose it can be considered cheesy or ...

Thief skills

Detect illusions functions like a free, near constant true sight when you have the skill at 100.

See that skill (same as set trap) as a percentage marker. At 100, you'll never fail - and going above will not yield any benefits.

Detect illusions works as true sight when you ...

I think your project sounds interesting, though I think some of the magic about the game is that it is viewed/imagined individually by players. "Your version" of specific characters or events might conflict with what people have in their own minds.

Anyways, I wanted to read your prologue, but the ...

The cap is 8 mil total which will be divided on your classes, so your assumption is correct: 2,66 mil per class.

Thus, no level 9 spells for your mage, but you can get a ton of timestop traps - go figure..

You can consider removing the cap though.

Haste (level 3 version) bug regarding attacks per round

Dear All,

I dusted off the old BG game and found an annoying bug relating to haste:

Normally, my character has 4.5 attacks per round.

When using BlackRazor or the haste spell, the character drops down to 2 or 2.5 attacks per round.

Clearly this is related to the haste spell (improved haste works ...

I believe the 'chuckify' death is hardcoded in the game. I remember someone trying to make shadows 'fizzle' upon death in some mod, but it was apparently impossible to get around the 'chuckification'.

So basically, the only advise I have is do 10 damage or less per hit, as things only get chucked ...

I am quite positive that the saving throw bonus/penalty was not implemented, nor do you gain a 'free' spell per new spell level.

However, I am fairly sure that the penalty/bonus when scribing spells was implemented. I have not checked the codes, but base this on experience.

Lastly, the rule that ...

Whether you want Deathfog as a spell pick for your sorceror is up to you. There are many great level 6 spells. As I mentioned - there are many scrolls to be found, and believe two or so would take care of a lich.

A bit spoilerish:

There is only one lich in the Underdark. (drow city)

Okay - liches with spells.

They are all immune to 5th level and below spells. Hence Sunfire will not work. You might occasionally see a lich being hurt by its own sunfire, but this is a clear bug, and your own will definitely never work.

Agree the Keldorn dispell/Truesight + hack away is a very ...

Asap

Well...honestly, the drow themselves (all of them) shouldn't cause you that much of a headache with a decent team, which yours is, as long as you have enough healing potions.
Only concern is that you are fairly magic heavy, which the drow are naturally resistant to. Still, Anomen and Jaheira ...

Hmm...haven't tried it, but generally speaking, if someone goes hostile on you, it's impossible to reverse them back to the neutral blue. At least, I have never heard of a way to do this, so if Bernard and everyone at the CC have gone against you, I think you'll have to live with that unfortunately..

Seems to be a corrupted file. The mace should offer a save vs. death not polymorph.

My suggestion is that you check if the mace is in the override folder (I do not have the .itm ID on me - you'll have to look that up), and if it is, then remove it. That will restore the weapon to its original ...

Hmm...based on your criteria, a 'simple' solution in my opinion would be to make your warlock out of a cleric/mage build. Either dual or multi - your choice. I'd add the following amendments:

- Edit the weapon(s) of your choice wieldable by this class via near infinity
- Swap to needed weapon ...

I've had a look at the shots - very nice by the way. Unfortunately, most of them are 'made up'. They are not taken from gameplay, but scenes most likely made for the purpose of some extra-snazzy screenshots.

For an archer, I'd be going for damage output as sole criteria - THAC0 will never be a problem for you.
For damage you have a couple of options:
+damage in bow/crossbow. You'll find the crossbows to be more damaging, but also with an attack less per round.
Number of attacks.

In my opinion it is ...

A fighter gets 1 decreased in thac0 per level. So a fighter level 1 has a base thac0 of 20, a fighter level 7 should have a base of 14, and so on.
Then you add your modifications, in your case:

Strength bonus: 18/54 gives +2 to hit.
Grandmastery: depending on mods etc, anywhere from +3-5 to hit. I ...

The spreading of proficiencies is not advisable in my opinion. But Saros seems to like it - it's all about playstyle.

Reason why you should spread your proficiencies:
- Super versatile character able to use almost any weapon and thereby utilise their innate abilities to greater effeciency

Reasons ...
