Oblivion has been a terrific game... but I am not enthralled by it... like I was with Morrowind... I loved the detail.... the variety (and rarity) of armor and weapons... and I found it to be much more 'strategic' - I needed to do a lot more 'planning' rather than just ramming through the game ...

SPOILER - ALERT -

I am exploring around after beating the Shivering Isles main quest - and I have traveled through a dungeon south of Bliss (Xed-something) and ended up in 'secret garden of dementia' part of the big castle which belonged to the now demised duchess of Dementia - I chose to become ...

well, there are toe-to-toe 'fighter' battles galore... so a pure magic user might have a difficult time... stealthy types do well (my guy is a 'ranger' who uses his bow a lot...) but since everyone levels up with you, the game should be beatable even for a new character... it is a very interesting ...

I find myself 'bartering' with the clerks at Walgreens.... I purchase an item for ten dollars and I ask if I can sell it back to them for fifteen dollars... they just look at me funny...

I walk into a trade house from some time out exploring and sure enough... some one says "what's that smell?"

and when the Ordinators say something denigrating... well, I call that an invitation to take their armor... (OFF OF THEIR CORPSES!!!)

um... they are the "boots of BLINDING speed" hint hint

I call my wife's cat "fetcher" (she doesn't get the joke)

I hate killing the Guars... they seem so harmless... kind of like 'Barney'...

wait... maybe I like killing Guars...

the first time I played, I kept getting killed by the Dark Brotherhood... I finally won a battle with one, and I really liked the armor... even so, I got killed a couple more times until I killed another one... I took his armor to the smith in the fighters guild in Balmora and I sold it all to him ...

first time through, I was an Imperial... and he was quite weak in battle for a good portion of the game... but he was popular...

next I was a dark elf... not really well liked by the other characters... but pretty good in battle...

now I am half-way done with a Nord... and he has rocked! not too ...

on my latest run through, I am collecting candles and lanterns... I have a large collection of candles of various hues... and a bunch of bug lamps (my favorites!)
I go walking around with a candelabra... just looks cool... :laugh:

this is a bit off track... but on my third character (a nord warrior) I listened to Caius when he said to go off and join a few guilds and explore a bit... well much later I am ready to do his first quest... and I am the Arch Mage, the Master of the Fighters Guild, the Master Thief, GrandMaster of ...

well, I have finished the main game... finished Tribunal AND Bloodmoon... still with the dreamers... I have every last Dagoth in a Grand Soulgem and have killed everything in every 6th house base... still with the dreamers...

I guess it is on to Oblivion...

every time I go to Khuul, there is this dreamer by the egg mine... (I have to kill him... just have to) and I read somewhere that if you 'shut down' the local sixth-house base these dreamers stop... well I have exterminated everything in every 6th house base I can find and still they are everywhere ...

I have a complete set of every type of armor in the basic game... so, I pick out a matching set... and go off exploring... depending on my mood, I am in full daedric armor, or perhaps full ice armor... or just nice clothes and a bow and arrows... sometimes I wear cheap stuff and run through daedric ...

most argonian characters in the game tend to be thieves... roguish thieves at that...

I made a point of soul-trapping every named 'Dagoth' in the game... I have them all except Dagoth Ur...

they are all on a shelf in Balmora - with their 'Sixth House Amulets' on top...

all are resting quietly... not saying much...

I used sneak and the amulet of shadows to get ...

I traded the 'boots of blinding speed' as one of the two artifacts at the museum, and then I stole them back ten minutes later...

I was sneaking around trying to save someone... this girl near Gnar Mok, and I accidentally tried to talk to her while I was sneaking... so I get the pick-pocket screen ...
