I am going to start this game and would like some suggestions on patch help. What patch/updates would you suggest and in what order to get the best out of the game? I appreciate the help.

Having just finished ToB, I am left with a decision. To become a God or not. If I become a God, am I able to import this character to future games since he has become immortal? Great game and thanks for your help everyone! I will have to play it again with all the upgrades.

I just tried the game core rules without any upgrades for my first try. I am going to play a 2nd time including all upgrades. Should be fun.

Unfortunately I don't have the wisdom high enough, but my Planetar has resurrection spells so I am ok so far as I upped my Planetar spells with my 2 magic users and cleric. I have defeated Melissan twice but it is tough without a true 3rd fighter. My party is more inclined toward magic but at least ...

Unfortunately, once the smugglers have gone there is no way to rid oneself of fenced items in ToB. Since I cannot go back to Shadows of Amn, I have no way to trade out and/or upgrade my fenced goods. Or does anybody know of a way I am not aware of? I assume the characters cannot make wands or rods.

Improved alacrity with fighters is a great idea. This is my first time through ToB (core rules) and I did not include any updates -- I will include these my second time around. Earlier I had finished the game with low level characters and was advised to go back and finish the quests. How much easier the final battle was!!! I realize that I have missed quite a few side quests so I am going back to finish those. Fortunately, I have saved the game at key points and I am able to go back to complete most everything. Thanks for the input.
