Not sure what you mean by slow, but if you mean a low frame-rate then you might try the DirectX 9 renderer if you had been using the DirectX 11 one so far. Addendum: That link provides information on how to enable DirectDraw if it is disabled, not the other way around.

Thanks for the link. Still doesn't work for my case Further online research revealed that there is no support for disabling DirectDraw in newer nVidia graphics drivers, which would be the problem in my case.

This only works for Windows XP. Windows Vista and Windows 7 have DirectDraw (and Direct3D) as an integral part of the OS, and there is no option to disable that using dxdiag.

On the contrary, evidence points towards the fact that the P/R response for resolving teammate's conflicts are scaled to your level. Hence doing both of their loyalty missions fairly late in the game may not be totally advisable.
