Halfling F/M/Rog

I love halfling Monks. But to get the most out of it, I played a F(4)/M(4)/R(rest). I played this through the original NWN & expansion and loved it. He was a dex based sneaky monk that sneak attacked with fists.

So F4 gets you WS-unarmed and an extra BAB point (which gets you an ...

I read somewhere that there is a maximum of 80% for any immunity, even if all your immunities added together are more than 80%. This is probably for game balance so you don't become completely immune to anything (except when using the NM invulnerability power). It also helps protect against what the ...

I've never heard of being able to put two lower level to get one higher level essence. I have seen that you can take a higher level essence and use the mortar and pestle to create a lower level essence. And you don't even have to put it on the workbench, you can crush it right in your inventory.

Lots of Help

Welcome to the forum.

I was actually thinking about writing a class guide for gamefaq on this very subject, but haven't gotten around to it. In my opinion, Arcane Trickster is the best class to have for a good character. You are enough of a mage and enough of a Rogue that you can ...

Effective Character Level (ECL)

This is part of the game. Experience for kiilling things is based on your Effective Character Level (or ECL). So for example you get more experience for killing the same thing if you have a lower ECL than you would if it were higher. E.g. An Effective level 10 ...

Practiced Spellcaster in as of 1.04

The 1.04 release notes say the following:
"The Practiced Spellcaster and Improved Rapid Shot feats are now available for characters that meet the prerequisites."

I am playing through right now as Sorc6/Rog3 about to become an Arcane Trickster and I love the ...

If it's any consolation, I have had the same problem with Grobnar. I find if I scroll through his entire spellbook there might be one or two currently memorized spells that have ...

Questions on Cheese (bugs) as compared to NWN

I haven't seen any postings on cheese yet in NWN2. I haven't bought NWN2 yet (hoping to get it for Christmas, otherwise I'll buy it), but have a few questions I hope someone can help me with.

So now that we can use 4 classes let's say we build a human Monk 3, Sorc 2 (req'd for RDD), RDD 8(extra ...

Thanks for the questions guys, but unfortunately yes, I started with the first
(most west, it also had the star on the mini-map for me), and yes I had Eva selected. Any other ideas?

Trouble with Eva's Contempt (Spoilers)

I have talked to the first guy with Eva that gave me the quest. We also went and cleared out the first prison and talked to the prisoner. He mentioned a strange phrase he heard (I assume a password), thanked us and left. When I go to the second prison, indicated by the flashing white star on the map ...

I'm currently playing a combat mage as I figured that character would take the most instruction during a fight. Throw out a curse, then change spells based on the weakness of whoever I'm fighting. Unfortunately though, while he does the most damage, he also dies if he ever goes toe to toe. I have ...

If you are where I think you are, that valley is in the back of the cave off of the desert, right before you entered the ancient azunite shrine. If you missed it, don't worry, it isn't critical.

Does character level matter for drops?

I think this is related enough to keep under the same post. Does character level matter for drops? I have noticed that even gold gets better through the game. Is that planned by the location in the game (i.e. how far you have gotten), or determined by the ...

I installed 1.66, and yesterday I left the room with the Never swords, had a nap and returned and they were still at near death. I can't speak for the rest of the game, but this is my experience.

Two Damage Types

Sigh, unfortunately this is an area where the game mechanics do not work quite as they should. Weapons with two types of damage should not be subjected to DR for only one type. That is if swinging a morningstar at someone with piecing DR or bludgeoning DR (not both), the damage ...

I have seen it posted many times that Bard/PM/RDD is one of the most powerful combos. You should strive for Bard14/PM16/RDD10. You end up with great stats, immunities to things like fire & criticals, and still get two wizard bonus epic feats (from PM). You also get a PM10+RDD4=14 AC bonus and 14th ...

Ripe, Wizards of the Coast (WoTC) is talking about AD&D and the way the rules SHOULD be applied. It is well documented that in NWN the highest class -Presitge or otherwiase- will not be taken into account when determining MC penalties for humans. This is from searches here and on Bioware's site, and ...
