Background
You'll receive this quest from Rostan Muggs in
Novigrad (#1).
Walkthrough
Muggs will tell you that he was robbed on the eastern side of the nearby bridge, but that he managed to hit the thief on the head with a bottle of moonshine. He'll then ask you to get back the document that was stolen from him.
When you go to the robbery site (#2) and turn on your witcher senses, you'll spot the remains of the moonshine, and you'll be able to follow its scent to the south, where you'll meet the culprit Gerd sitting in front of the Seven Cats Inn (#3). However, Gerd will claim that he won the document playing cards, and that Muggs hit him with the moonshine when he wouldn't give it back.
Regardless of which story you believe, you'll need to acquire the document, and you'll have three choices for this: you can box for it, play gwent for it, or use the Axii sign to get it. When you're successful, Gerd will hand over Muggs' document: a
Title to Property.
When you return to Muggs, he'll admit that he was lying, but you'll only be given one way to complete the quest. You'll have to hand over the document to Muggs. When you do, you'll earn 20 crowns and 25 xp.
