Perhaps the hardest thing about PoR is surviving the first few levels (characterwise and dungeonwise). The soloist that I came up with was the result of about 10 to 20 failed experiments and fatalities. Anyway, the thing is this--you get two levels early on, and then it takes a long time to get to ...

Finished the Game Solo

Final Stats:
"Green Giantess" the Half-Elf Chaotic Good Barbarian(5)/Cleric(16)/Rogue(6)/Fighter(5)

32 levels is the maximum for multi-classers, requiring about 500,000 XP, and I reached it with my solo part-rogue 3/4 through the game, with the first three domains completed but without entering the ...

The Stalker/Cleric is weak? I don't think so. In case any of you didn't try this combo in SoA when it was still allowed....

In support thereof:

1. The stalker-cleric is a valid multi-class under both manuals. Any multi-class is a valid dual-class, and you can choose a kit for the first class. Ranger/clerics are valid multi-classes, and a stalker is a ranger kit.
2. Stalker-clerics were allowed in SoA, you could create ...

Petition to Lift Ban on Stalker-Clerics

Please visit the official ToB general forum at 'http://www.interplay.com/bg2throne/' and sign onto a petition for Bioware/Black Isle to lift the ban on stalker-clerics and archer-clerics for the final version of the official patch.

I got the following info and verified itself over the course of some discussions with a "shapeshifter expert."

Shapeshifters are MUCH IMPROVED in ToB. First of all, druids in general suddenly get 6 level 7 spells at level 15 whereas at level 14 they only had 1. Second, they get 30% elemental ...

I don't think that it's a bug, but it looks like Wizardslayers can use the Amulet of Seldarin which was the reward for beating SoA and also which any character is given when created in TOB. It gives 10% MR, which is nice for Wizardslayers who want to close the final gap in MR.

Also, they made it so ...

Also, for those who don't already know, if you dual your wizardslayer to a thief and acquire the "use any item" advanced ability, your wizardslayer can use any item including magical items.

Finally, in SoA (and I'm not sure if this was the original or the patch and also whether this has changed in ...

The Wizardslayer Experiments

I finally got around to experimenting with the Wizardslayer. I used the CLUA console to power up a Wizardslayer-Cleric and ctrl-Q'd Illasura. Here's what I came up with:

1) The manual is correct although a bit confusing regarding MR. Wizardslayers get 1% MR for levels 1-19. Then, for every EVEN ...

"Smite" was MADE for archers. It turns your bow into a bazooka, blowing away your opponents--literally! Now while you can select "smite" only once (and only after you've previously selected power attack and critical strike), you can select power attack numerous times for instance--turns your arrows ...

The cleric/thief multi-class has so many special abilities they don't fit on one screen, so you have to choose "special abilities" and then pickpocket or whatever. Anyway, a VERY INTERESTING class combo to play especially in TOB.

Actually, the dual-class screen .2DA file DOES show other classes to dual to, just make sure you scroll to the right to see all the classes across the top line. Now enabling them has the effect of when you create a character in TOB you suddenly have the dual class button high-lighted. And so I ...

Any Way to Enable Unlimited Dual-Classing?

What I found most fascinating about BG II were all the different class combos possible through dual-classing and kits, etc. But in TOB, although they introduced the wild mage, they did not do much in terms of further innovations in classes and class combos. Note that in AD&D, you could dual just ...

Hey, if you're importing from BG I to BG II, even better you get the option of choosing a ranger kit. I would go with stalker or archer and either dual at level 9 or dual at the end of BG II before TOB. That would make the ranger dualled to cleric even more powerful--imagine getting triple backstab ...

Raven,

Yeah, I might still bring along a blade (skalds are extinct by the way because everyone gets the same superior song) as a team player, maybe 6 of 6 or '7 of 9,' but they're just not that powerful anymore, they've "slid" in the relative rankings at least in my book from where they were in BG ...

Xyx,

You're right on with the triple classes--they were one of the first classes I experimented with and field-tested using the CLUA console. I also started two solo games with them. Yeah, that's the annoying thing, that both triple classes include a mage and your mage doesn't get to level 9/10 ...

@Xyx

Regarding dual classes, they were definitely better than multi-classes in BG II in part for the reasons you mentioned. But besides advanced ability points, we also have the fact that the first class of a dual class doesn't improve at all after dualling and that by the time you get to TOB, the ...
