Thank you all for your assistance. Hopefully there will soon be a mod that will allow me to add DW as a companion, ready to spark a romance or just share causal, innuendo-laced conversation. :D

Dragon Age: Awakening Patch?

Any word on a patch? It seems unfathomable, given all the negative reports that I have read, that Bioware is allowing DA:O's brand reputation to be damaged in this way for so long. Like many others, I do not intend to play Awakenings until the expansion is patched.

If you played through the Broken Circle quest, but you didn't use the scroll (of Adalla or some such) in the final fight, then all the mages in that room died, including the first enchanter. In that case, when you end the battle, you would have spoken to Cullen, since the First Enchanter would be ...

The mod situation at DA:O appears to be moving out of the simple face/hair change mods. A good example of this are these two, which I am currently installing and will be checking out:

Dragon Age Redesigned Version 6.3

Improved Atmosphere

Please be aware that these are huge mods that change ...

SPOILERS...

Are you talking about the Watchguard of the Reaching? If so, the game guide says there are four but then goes on to list six:
Apprentice Quarters: two in the footlockers, one in the library
Senior mage: one in the study by Owain, one on the opposite end of the study
Great hall: one ...

For a completely different take, I was tooling around on another site and found this hilarious post by DoctorDogGirl:

In many ways, I assess an RPG almost the same way that I assess an anime: at the end, did it make me think, did the characters evolve organically and did I care about them, and did I feel something noteworthy at key points and at the end? To all of this in terms of DA:O I would emphatically say yes ...

Legends of the Grey Wardens (major spoilers)

I recently read an interesting article than conjectured that playing a game like DA:O is like an incarnation - a life lived in a different reality. Following that reasoning, I thought it would be fitting to create a place where our incarnations could be honored and our legends told. Like stories ...

Glad to be of service. :)

The other thing about the Enigma mod is that the author has clearly communicated that it was a learning experience for him and he is not going to do any bug fixes or updates on it. So it is pretty much take as is. If you are going to do it, I would certainly create a save ...

Arcane Sustainables
One of the things to consider about being an arcane mage is when to switch on the sustainable spells, like Combat Magic or Shimmering Shield, that make this build so awesome. If you switch them on too early, you take a significant negative to mana regeneration. This is not ...

I thought I should post a warning that the Enigma Battle Arena majorly messes up your ending sequence if you decide to take one of the two additional "companions" that they offer. The game attempts to rotate the new companion in apparently, which plays havoc with the choices of team members you make ...

As BS eloquently noted, Morrigan has an agenda that does not really include human emotional attachments. She is a vessel of a destiny that was artfully crafted years ago by a skilled artisan who had centuries of practice. Morrigan was raised to be a borderline ferral creature and she does not have ...

Tale of Orzammer

As some of you may be aware, there was an exclusive level created by BioWare for PC Gamer magazine called A Tale of Orzammar. I bought the magazine thinking that the level would integrate with the main game and would be fun. No such luck. It is actually a separate campaign, which requires you to ...

I wasn't about to put Anora on the throne. Period. I am a very reactionary gamer. Loosely translated, that means all my characters tend to hold onto grudges for dear life. Anora made some bad decisions as it relates to selling my warden out, and therefore payback must come.

Actually, I can't be ...

You both make excellent points. :)

In the current game, my character did successfully "harden" Alistair, but only temporarily. :D
He would be no match for Anora in his current "gentle" state but I'm thinking maybe a Petrify spell...??

I have considered the expansion and I think betraying Anora ...

Nope, nothing like that happened to me like that in either the Stone Prisoner or Ostagar. Bummer. But then I only play after checking my horoscope to be sure the stars are correctly aligned. ;)
