Huuurgghh (Hardcore deaths)

My 50-something ish hardcore necromancer just died today, and it was annoying to say the least. Dac Farren in Act 5 nightmare just exploded in a frost nova mushroom cloud and depleted my almost-full health bubble to 0. Should have been more careful... "Huuuurrrrgh!" I imagine it would be even more ...

True, but isn't it all about running around with your superpowered characters who can wreak havoc without remorse carrying around a...gull dagger? The name, man! The name! Er...the MF isn't too bad if you're a magic-user of some sort is it (since you have so much mana...); then again, I haven't ...

Spoilers

If my memory hasn't been bombarded by six-foot-seven muscle-bound gods who have come from outer space in order to cut the human race up limb by limb and toss our flaming corpses into a titanium filled case, I believe you can either 1) kill the thief guy who has the dagger (he's in the ...

I say that the Kensai is better for fights, simply because of the damage potential, especially in combination with the better weapons....then again, kensais are pretty one dimensional (I find so...unless you dual)--I had more fun with a swashbuckler, to be honest; they can be used as scouts, decoys ...

Thanks for your quick replies. It turned out I only needed another level up and 20 more points into the science skill to fix the computer thing (could have used books :) ). I needed to use Science and Repair on the thing. I don't think Vic is proficient with Science; he's just a repairman--at least ...

Vault 15 computers (repair skill)

Hi, everyone. I installed Fallout 2 again and am playing a sneaky character specializing in small arms...I've never finished the game before and want to get through it with as few spoilers as possible--just one nagging question, though :D so I don't have to restart a character because of one skill ...

Unless you plan on putting up spell protections before triggering every single trap (or just taking the damage), I would recommend Jan for his thieving skills, which come in convenient in lots of situations. You could also make use of his Use Any Item ability if you have TOB to make him into a ...

Yes, overall a higher control level of your followers would increase playability drastically. Another annoying aspect of the game was healers like Virgil (who, after casting a light healing spell on tech-oriented Magnus for the twentieth time, falls unconscious to be beaten to a bloody pulp by ...

You can dual.. it's just a waste of proficiency points. Last time I tried it, the cleric ...

Just clarifying.. you can do it with dual class characters too, just like multiclass. I did it with a fighter(9)/druid(4), so it ...

The mod looks pretty good; lots of features--especially the tech/magick balance and training followers how you want them. Different areas like Shrouded Hills should give another reason to go through the game (again!). Have yet to try it, though (I will once I reinstall).

Keep in mind that some prefer 4 or 5 people because the item drop percentages kinda level off after that, when compared to the difficulty of the monsters. So 4 or 5 should be all right for killing efficiency and the item drops. Unless it's the beginning of the game, when everything is so easily ...

Yes, madness is good. I'll have her wearing that girdle hoping for the improbable coincidence of another wild surge changing her back--or would it change it to male again? *sigh* :D Thanks for the reply.

Wild Mage Woes

Hello, everyone.
I've just started on my mage only party the other day and have currently recruited Aerie, Jan, and Kelsey (will get Edwin and Imoen). I'm playing as a wild mage (already had a cow dropped on myself a few times; also demons gated in) and plan on playing without reloading regardless ...

Mighty oaths indeed; Virgil kept on knocking himself out trying to heal Magnus. At least they don't shoot you in the back like Iolo in Ultima VII (or do they, I don't remember :D ) I'd have to dig quite a bit to get it back out...it's in my room, somewhere.

Concerning your first question, I think males get a better strength, and females get a better constitution. Not too sure about charm, and I never found much use for conjure spirit, though it's been a long time since I've played, so my memory is a little hazy.

Heh, that's the way it usually goes...one person kills another, then everybody brings in higher level characters. You weren't illegitimately killing people were you, Taco? :D I dislike people killing me without for a duel first It's Battle.net--people are more used to cows.
