Well i guess i must concede, partially at least, to Mathurin and Ned, the 3ed spells make more sense from a roleplaying point of view, being generally based on illusions, enchantments, and sound which make sense for a bard.

But as for the spell progression up to eighth, i think bards needed to be ...

Okay my first question seems to be falling on deaf ears. This brings up my second question, are there any hardcore bard fans out there who feel shafted by the 3ed bard spells? We don't even get magic missle anymore. I'd still like to figure out that 4th 8th level spell but let's here some thoughts ...

Bard Spells

Has anyone else noticed that there are only 3 level 8 bard spells?
The manual says that you learn 4 by level 30. But the only spells i can find are: Mass dominate, power word blind, and wail of the banshee. What's the fourth spell?

I hate to dispute that but in the complete paladin's handbook for 2nd edition D&D there are several holy swords listed in addition to the holy avenger, though the holy avenger is the most common type.

Others listed in the book are
purifier +3
turns undead as a cleric of same level, instead of two ...

Problem with Dialogue

Okay i just started BG2 SOA and i have TOB installed. Only problem is random important characters won't talk to me. I try to initiate dialogue and i get a message that says i can't because the person is busy. Obviously a bug or glitch but the question is how do i fix it?

I have to go with minsc. My reason simple. The scene when you introduce minsc to the pirate lord on spellhold.

I'm not sure if it is a bug, but sometimes when i had been playing for hours the game would kick me out, though when i would restart the game it wouldn't do it again. I always thought of it as a reminder to eat. :D It probably is a bug if it happens at the same place everytime, but if it only occurs ...

Don't be so quick to drop jaheira, she becomes quite powerful if properly equipped. Give her a girdle of strength, and a good staff, perhaps of thunder and lightning and watch her go to town. Think of her as an armored conjurer, who you don't have to worry about being killed in two hits. The romance ...

Minsc is a definate. Whether you go the route of 2h sword, or better yet dual wield 2 axes. There are some nice +3 axes very early in the game.
Anomen is a great cleric. He can use a sling, though there are some great blunt weapons, dependant upon how much you know i would suggest getting some ...

the horn is actually useful in the hands of a character with some decent saving throws. I find it especially useful in the illithid sewer dungeon. The horn not only breaks through any defenses, it also has a chance to stun all creatures. I had my paladin walk in alone fire the thing off, and hastily ...

unless anyone wiser than me knows a way around this one, you are screwed. You have to do more than just kill them i believe. Maybe not, did you go back to the order and talk to your contact?

If i'm not mistaken it is latin.
Vita Mortis Cario Ventum. I think that's how it goes. My latin is rusty. Vita is life, Mortis is death, and i forget what the other two are.
Skio dedici peto is the other one i believe. As for what they mean, you should check a latin dictionary.

it really depends upon what class you are,
like if you are a bard you want to do the bard quest as soon as you can, given you will have the extra xp from TOTSC maybe even immediately, so what class are you? You probably want to do the stronghold quest for your ...

I would suggest tackling it at chapter six after you exit the underdark, for as curdis says the awesome stuff and exp. Cool thing is you don't have to complete it, just go as far as you can manage, go back to the regular game, come back in a few levels or with some better ...

And second you do realize that cavaliers get extra damage and thaco against dragons and DEMONS. which are a little more impressive than your average undead. With the proper equipment the cavalier can be stocking up on ...

As for the most powerful spellcaster on Evermeet, probably among all the elves, is none other than Amlaruil, the queen, she was head of the tower of magic before she became the queen. Stick it in your backpack and enjoy the extra hitpoints, that's the only use i've ever found for the pseudodragon.
