Overview

1 - Tower

When you get close to this tower, you'll trigger the quest The Tower Outta Nowheres.


2 - Shrine

Behind this shrine you'll find the diagram for Griffin Steel Sword - Superior.


3 - Hole

You'll find a large hole in the ground here leading down into a cave. The cave is involved in the quest The Path of Warriors, and you'll get a chance to explore the cave (via another entrance) during that quest. If you try to jump down into the hole, then you'll just crash to the ground and die.


4 - Urialla Harbor

You'll meet a few people of interest in this town:

• Amateur Armorer, Amateur Blacksmith, Innkeep. They'll provide their regular services.
  
  
• Skellige Woman. She'll give you the quest The Path of Warriors.

5 - Ruins

In the dungeons beneath the ruins here, you'll find the diagrams for Ursine Armor, Ursine Boots, Ursine Gauntlets, and Ursine Trousers. However, to collect them you'll have to defeat several level 20 wraiths.


6 - Trail to Yngvar's Fang

You'll meet Gunnar here. He's involved in the quest The Path of Warriors.


7 - Hidden Treasure

On a derelict ship here, you'll find a corpse holding a Cargo List. Reading the list will trigger the quest Nilfgaardian Treasure.


8 - Underwater Cavern

This cavern is involved in the quest The Last Wish.


9 - Larvik

You'll meet several people of interest inside this town:

• Amateur Armorer, Innkeep, Merchant. They'll provide their usual services.
  
  
• Donar an Hindar. He's the jarl of Hindarsfjall.
  
  
• Kaspar, Sverre, and Thorleif. They're involved in the quest Contract: Strange Beast.
  
  
• Svana. She'll give you the quest(s) The Heroes' Pursuits.

10 - Necrophage Cave

You'll meet two warriors in front of this cave. They'll give you the quest For Fame and Glory.


11 - Cave


12 - Nekker Cave

This cave is involved in the quest Contract: Strange Beast.


13 - Temple of Freya

Inside this temple you'll meet Kurisu and a Freya Priestess. Kurisu is involved in the quest Taken as a Lass. The priestess will sell you alchemy supplies.


14 - Freya's Garden

This location is involved in the quests In Wolf's Clothing and Nameless.


15 - Lofoten

You'll meet Josta in the middle of this abandoned village. She's involved in the quest In Wolf's Clothing.


16 - Ruins

When you explore these ruins, you'll get attacked by a level 24 ice troll. Then when you enter the poison-filled underground portion of the ruins (where Golden Oriole is a good idea), you'll find a few chests to loot, including one containing the diagram for Wolven Steel Sword - Superior.

Note: Just to the east of the ruins, Hounds of the Wild Hunt might repeatedly spawn and then attack you if you're nearby. This is a bug and you can't do anything about it, other than get in and out of the ruins as quickly as possible.


17 - Abandoned Site (Isolated Hut)

If you defeat the white wolves here, then the peasants -- including a merchant -- will return to work. You'll also earn 50 crowns and 170 xp.


18 - Abandoned Site (Lurthen)

If you defeat the harpies and the erynias here, then the peasants will return to the site, and you'll earn 50 crowns and 170 xp.
