Background

You'll receive this quest at the end of the quest Murders in Ferdok, when you learn that Kastan Gamblack was responsible for the murders.


Walkthrough

You won't hear anything more about Gamblack until Chapter 5, when you'll encounter him at the bottom of the fortress ruins in the Blood Mountains. After a bit of banter, he and a few dragon cultists will attack you.

The first thing you should do in the battle is run away. That's because the dragon cultists will chase you, but Gamblack won't, and so you'll be able to split up the battle into two parts. This is more important if you fought your way through the ruins (rather than sneaking), because then you'll face seven cultists instead of just three.

Gamblack is tough, and he'll take a while to kill, but with four against one you should eventually wear him down. When Gamblack dies you'll earn 65 experience points, and you'll also find the sword Snip and more on his corpse. Then when you inform Duke Growin (in the Ducal Residence in the Ducal Citadel in Ferdok) about Gamblack's death, he'll reward you with 50 ducats, a Robe of the City of Ferdok, and a Chain Mail Shirt of the City of Ferdok, and you'll also receive 50 experience points.
