Background
The first time that you approach the bridge leading to the Dark Forest (#1), you'll meet the novices Nottel and Rufus there. They'll tell you that while they were in the Jagged Blade (#2) enjoying some
Ferdok Pale Ale, their master, Rakorium Muntagonis, wandered off, probably in pursuit of wild herbs. If you agree to look for him, then you'll trigger the quest.
Walkthrough
You'll find Rakorium (#4) in the mineshaft to the northeast. You'll receive 30 experience points when you reach him. Rakorium won't make much sense when you talk to him (now, later, or ever), but he'll begin following you, and he'll allow you to lead him out of the mineshaft. But be careful! Talking to Rakorium will cause all of the odd-looking rocks (#3) to turn into wolf rats or robbers, and you'll have to kill them all as you make your escape.
When you exit the cave, you'll receive 50 experience points, and Rakorium will suddenly remember his teleportation spell, which he'll then use to teleport himself to his novices at the bridge (#1). When you arrive there yourself, you'll receive 80 more experience points, and Rakorium will give you
Rakorium's Writings before teleporting away to Ferdok. You'll be able to use the writings in the quest
