Overview
1 - Dying Man
You'll meet a dying man here. He'll give you the quest
Goblins Afoot.
2 - Blocked Pass
You can re-open this recently blocked pass by using 2-3
Powder Kegs. This will allow you to get into the Lowlands -- and more importantly,
Macross Point -- much more quickly.
3 - Hanging Corpses
You'll discover a pair of corpses hanging next to the archery targets here. If you loot them, then you'll find
Arrows,
Flight Arrows, and
Steel Arrows.
4 - Silver Chest
Inside this chest you'll find the unique axe
Red Sunrise.
5 - Explosives Hut
Inside this hut you'll find three
Powder Kegs, plus some
Sulfur and
Cotton Wicks that you can use to turn them into
Fused Powder Kegs.
6 - Chest
Inside this chest you'll find
Gildedmoon Pendant 10. You'll be able to use it in the
Moonrise Underground.
7 - Sign
At this spot you'll see a sign that reads "The path is open to those who can reveal the way." This is a clue for the nearby coded door (#9).
If you cast the Reveal Map spell here, then the code will appear on the mini-map in green. If you don't have the Reveal Map spell, then there are some other ways to get the code. You can take a screenshot at this spot and then adjust the brightness until you can detect the numbers, or you can use a graphics program's fill tool on the numbers or the background, since they're slightly different colors. You can also press the tab key. This will cause grid lines to show up on the numbers but not on the ground around them, making them possible to read. The code is random, so you'll have to work it out each time you play.
8 - Coded Door
This door will grant you access to the Wizardtorium -- but only if you can figure out the code to open it. You'll see a clue for the code at the nearby sign (#8). When you go past the door, you'll get credit for finding a secret area.
9 - Barrel
Inside this barrel you'll find
Dried Meat,
Wild Cabbage, and
Yambi Berries.
10 - Wizardtorium Rewards
In this part of the Wizardtorium if you pull two levers then you'll receive one of six rewards:
- If you pull "Improve Thy Self" and "The Way of the Fox" then you'll gain +2 dexterity.
- If you pull "Improve Thy Self" and "The Way of the Raven" then you'll gain +2 intelligence.
- If you pull "Improve Thy Self" and "The Way of the Ogre" then you'll gain +2 strength.
- If you pull "Improve Thy Self" and "The Way of the Owl" then you'll gain +2 wisdom.
- If you pull "Improve Thy Wealth" and "Treasure of the Warrior King" then you'll find a
Copper Captain's Axe, a
Copper Full Helm,
Copper Javelins,
Copper Plate Bracers,
Copper Scale Armor,
Copper Scale Boots,
Mithril Arrows, and a
Pine Composite Bow.
- If you pull "Improve Thy Wealth" and "Treasure of the Grand Mage" then you'll find an
Amulet of the Magi, a
Copper Dagger,
Magicka Divine, a
Mana Potion III, a
Potion of Invisibility III, a
Scroll of Haste, a
Scroll of Polarclaw, and a
Wizard's Hat.
The mage gear is much better than the warrior gear, but we'd still recommend that you take one of the attribute bonuses.
Note: Depending on the version of the game you're playing, if you choose the attribute side of the Wizardtorium, then you can place
Powder Kegs right outside the cells containing the levers you didn't select, and blowing up the kegs will flip the levers and grant you extra attributes.
