Background
You'll receive this quest from Seamus in
Rockhammer (#1), provided that you ask him what his job is and then listen to his story.
Walkthrough
From Seamus' story you'll learn that he wanted to be a blacksmith when he was growing up, but that he only managed to become a lowly toolmaker. You'll try to cheer him up by saying he could be a blacksmith if only he had a
Crafting Hammer, and by the by you'll work out a deal where if you find a
Crafting Hammer for him, then he'll make you a weapon or a piece of armor.
You can find two
Crafting Hammers in the game: one on Level 1 of the
Wrecked Ship in the Southern Boglands (located to the west), and another on Level 2 of the
Rockhammer Mine (Exit A). When you hand the hammer over to Seamus, he'll offer to make you one of five things: a Battle Axe, Chain Gauntlets, a Long Sword, a Stiletto, or a Studded Vest. The material he uses will either be iron or steel; the choice appears to be random. You'll also receive 500 xp for completing the quest.
