Wait a second... Luskan is Chapter3.
And you aren't even supposed to have that ring until well into Chapter4?

Are you sure it is really Aribeths ring that we're talking about here? Isn't it rather the one you get from Aarin Gend to show to the Luskan gate guards so ...

Since then the chest inventory should come up - and you can drag&drop the desired item into it right from your own inventory... =/

Well... he does have the quill on him. The funny thing is, atm I cannot see any script or trigger on him that'd cause him to disappear, so he should be there somewhere regardless of what you said...? =/

Just in case he really -is- gone, you can spawn the quill with:
## DebugMode 1

Although that'd be a really nice gag, I'm sure the devs didn't bother to think that far. That line is just a little text candy to flesh out the atmosphere.

You know... that's really one of those parts where the blatant difference between a paper&pen roleplaying campaign (led by a human DM) and a PC ...

There is... although usually she -should- give you the ring if you made the right choices. That dialogue is a long one, and most outcomes aren't positive... ah, well...

Exactly. SoU is meant to be played with a fresh new character.

If you feel like me and are attached to your old NWN chara, save him and use him for HotU later (as his level will be somewhat appropriate there). But for SoU, the only tractable way to play is making a new character.
