Bummer. I think that stinks. I liked the Advance Points system. Added an extra layer of tension and strategy as to when to spend your points. The more you saved up for something big, the bigger the risk ...

Actually, the super fast swing with jumps and backing up was a bug. Seems they fixed it. Can't speak for the kicking as I haven't tried a Ninjitsu character yet...

It used to work in v1.3. Opened that little treasure nook in the theatre subfloor. Looks like they'll have to fix that in v1.6. ;)
