I just killed Firkraag on my first try. I'm a solo sorcerer, L17.

I keep these buffs up all the time:
Stoneskin
Remove Fear
Protection Fire, Acid, Magic (I throw around Skull Traps, Delayed Fireballs, Death Fogs, and Incendiary Clouds like confetti.)

So, basically, zero buff time. I just run in ...

Mordenkainen's Sword: Five for One?

I was in the sewers below the priest district on my solo sorcerer. I saw a mustard jelly and did not feel like throwing MMMs at him, so I summoned a Mordsword. All of a sudden, five swords sprang up with the message, "You cannot have more than five summons at one time" or however it goes.

That ...

On the same note, the Cloak of Non-Detection does not protect against True Seeing.

...that sucks.

I was wearing the cloak in Adventure Mart, cast Improved Invisibility, and the merchant there True Saw (True Seeing'ed?) me. :-(

Played through BGTutu with solo sorc.

Traps: MI does the trick 1000% in BGI and BGII (except for, perhaps, save or die traps -> untested). I could run through traps like it was Christmas with MI on and nothing would hit me.

Also, with MI, I can take a AHW, fireballs, CoCs, Skull Traps all with no ...

Shadow Dragon turned to dust.

How to kill the Shadow Dragon: 1) spells and 2) way to avoid level drain.

1) Build: Solo Sorcerer, lvl 13.
At the very least, keep up Stoneskin and Mirror Image.

Lower resistances two or three times. Greater Malison, Glitterdust. Throw a Chromatic Orb, and poof ...

So, I finally entered the Iron Throne...
Do you remember that Staff of Polymorph you get for killing those boogeymen...?

Well, maybe it was a bad idea for the dev's to give it to me...:

That's a great tactic. Unfortunately, even if the acolytes turn into Aec'Latec, you only get 16,000 xp once. :( That's alright though, solo mages hardly need the experience.

I'm curious, though, as to how other people dealt with the situation as a solo mage/sorcerer?
I always feel like spells like ...

If Imoen or the main character have Mirror Image, and if you can buff their AC to at least -5 or 6, you can have either of these characters tank while you use range with the other characters. Also, you can throw AoE scrolls/spells/potions into the fray because MI protects fairly well against AoE ...

Hilarious Time - Chessboard and Aec'Letec

I've never made it to the actual city of Baldur's Gate, nor even begun TotSC content.

Chessboard:
Well, I arrived at the Chessboard. Now, I'm a solo sorcerer (Tutu), but after the cap, I let some people into my party, although I just leave them in a corner and do my own fighting...

So, I'm reading ...

I do like better resolution, but I agree, BGI is great as it is...unless you want to be any of the new classes or a half-orgre. Seeing as I want to be a sorcerer this time, and next time a wild mage, vanilla BGI won't cut it. :)

Anyhow, even with TuTu, you need to import your character into BGII ...

Sentinal-Watchman: Can get more than plenty of force powers. Force points are enough that you can run into any battle and chain-cast force powers until everyone's dead.
When it comes to melee, lightsaber finess means you can ignore strength, and you do ridiculous damage. I killed Kreia in about ...

Ouch, sounds pretty tough. Good luck with the Ravager this time around.

You might consider bringing a party with you, but soloing otherwise, meaning you have six people in the group, but you just fight with one character. That'd be *really* tough, I think. Impossible, even?

Why are theiving skills useless? Okay, picking locks and stuff, yes, but disarm traps? I'm very concerned about playing a solo sorc and getting killed by traps in Nashkel.

BGT vs. TuTu

Using "Search," I see that back in 2005 TuTu was arguably the better mod.

What do people think about BGT vs. TuTu these days?

Also, is it simply a matter of importing your BGI-TuTu character to SoA to continue the game?

Thanks,

You'd need level 7 as a mage to access level 5 spells if you play vanilla. I'm not sure if the scroll exists, but I think I've heard of people turning Noober into a squirrel (: D), so maybe it exists.

What does "MP party" mean?

Have you thought of resting only at night time or when your characters would rightfully be completely exhausted?

No reloads sounds good.

Another idea: If you are learning or are fair at a foreign language, you may want to replay the saga in that language! That may spice ...
