Any of my characters can take him down alone, just need some preparations and cheese. For example, Fighter/mage or kensai mage do stoneskin/PfMW/mirror image/fireshield...druid iron skin... fighters HLAs... mages, too many methods. Well cleric will have a bit of a problem, but who says you can't run ...

You can't find spell trigger in SoA, unless its one of the random level 8 scroll treasures.

And don't forget Chain Contingency. CC - 3 Project Image, at helpless, cast project image, there's four sorcerors for you :)

project image dear, project image...

first prepare a chain contingency with triple project image when helpless, target yourself... then when the battle starts, cast project image. you should get 4 images. then pause and let one of them prepare a chain contingency with 3 pierce shields at demogorgon ...

The illithid are a pushover if your fighter types are strong and fast enough... even the improved ones. Maybe 5 fighter types all chaotic commanded and 25 int with potion + oil of speed / improved haste / whirlwind charging in and hacking away should do it.. and the inquisitors true sight is really ...

My first party was Mage Heavy... two (almost) pure mages (immie and nalia), one non-fighting cleric (viccy), 2 fighters (Paladin PC and minsc) and one half-fighter half-priest (jaheira)
3 fighters

my second one was
sorcerer
jaheira
anomen
keldorn
minsc
imoen
4 fighters

these two only went through ...

yeah, I liked the three adventurers...
Tim Goldenhand
Namoc the Barbarian
(Leader) Bondari...

They reminded me of my days in BG1... Namoc is *suitably unfettered by the .... of civilization* Tim can *magic missile* and Bondari can *backstab* (multiplier two)... and boy was I surprised when I turned ...

Hey.. I didn't know it doesn't grant immunity to breach! Now, thats *great*! But Spell Immunity Divination + Abjuration and Mislead is sorta irritating... really, the spell immunities make mages nearly impossible to take down for some time. Worse still, liches.... I wonder if Spellstrike can remove ...

Speaking of funny... what happens when you put Tashia and Jan in one party...? She seems to know alot about Jan, given his absence in my party. I was quite amazed at how *knowledgable* she was, (she's *never* spoken to Jan before) and how my PC was able to refer to her quotes from Jan and identify ...

Yup, I absolutely agree, fable... With all the items/spells/skills you might as well Ctr Y any opponents you deem unworthy to flick your wrist at :P (Thats what I do with goblins/gibberlings/hostile wildlife)
Now, in order to create an enemy really worth something is *really* tough and I must say ...

Heh, thanks Chanak, that really enlightened me :) I think I shall retain my peculiar affinity for spells and casting glows/effects!

Erm... you're level 13 average and you're fighting Saladrex... thats *close* to Nalmissra and Demogorgey... and they aren't pushovers. I did Watcher's Keep at level 25 to 30+... so I'm not exactly sure whether my low-level party techniques may work for you...

When I fought earlier SoA dragons at ...

Well, I think Michael has done a great job on Tashia, but the end story in SoA is kinda... sappy...

Tashia - Ugh, I don't feel an aura of restoration at all.
Tashia - In fact, its quite the opposite
Arilistan - blah blah
Tashia - I'm leaving, now.
Arilistan - Tashia?
Tashia - What?
Arilistan - Die ...

Ahh... Hehe Xyx, your Smart Beholders were great! They "felt" the rays reflected back at them and stopped eyeing Anomen (Shield of Balduran). Took me around 10 minutes to melee those swarming melee-beholders with a pitiful Flail of Ages and Righteous Magic... But somehow the AI seemed to prevent the Elder ...
