Two, the development point system you describe sounds an awful lot like Rolemaster.

I abandoned AD&D many many years ago in favor of Rolemaster for exactly the arbitrary silliness of AD&D's rules. What if I am a fighter and want to learn how to disarm traps (without walking into it delberately ...

Anyone consider the absurdly high level Aragorn would be as compared to our favorite Hamster-toting warrior? Aragorn probably can't even REMEMBER back to when he was 17th level....

Oh, by the way, that "old broken sword" was recently reforged into the finest sword in 3rd age middle earth....a true ...

Keldorn knows two-handed sword, longsword, and crossbow.

I THINK Nalia knows dagger and quarterstaff...I KNOW she can use shortbows and shortswords.

Cernd: never used him, but since he already has a quarterstaff, I assume he at least knows how to use it....

One is for sale from Gortch in the front room of Mae'Var's guild in the docks district. You could also steal it from him.

And watch the spoiler information, some of the others on the board do not want you spilling out spoilers without warnings. Have some courtesy.

"Sacred" rules of AD&D?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

AD&D, while the most popular system ('cause it was the first...) is certainly NOT flawless. MAny game systems reflect combat and weapons in a FAR superior manner.

Axes are one of the notoriously underappreciated weapons in the game system ...

Thank you, Radek.

I had thought about this strategy but not put it to use yet. I used it in the Den of the Seven Veils to good effect.

Few victories will be as satisfying as finally killing that annoying thief, Ketta.

Isn't Daystar a longsword? Memory tells me it is, but at my age, memory comes and goes.... http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif

I know for sure that Keldorn can use longswords (specialized). I think he is the only one who starts with proficiency in that weapon.

Why would a restart be necessary after a full install? Wouldn't it be possible to simply save the game, store the files on floppy or elsewhere, and THEN do the full install?

Then simply load the game from the point you saved before discovering the faulty CD 4.

NPC of the new classes, such as Sorceror, Monk or Barbarian. Why we have THREE fighter/mages is beyond me....a waste of good character space.

A correction:

The sphere gives you a Staff of Power (among other goodies) IF (that is) your apprentices do not blow themselves up when making the items for you.

The Staff of the Magi is obtained by anyone in the "Twisted Rune" quest. It has nothing to do with any stronghold ...

I have found that some items are not functional, and cannot be un-equipped. I had this problem when experimenting with the robe of the good archmagi. I suspect there are others. I tried removing via shadowkeeper, and then adding it again, but it still did not work.

Sorry, missed the romance reference.

The first thing is whether your PC is male or female.

If you are female, you do not have the right NPC in your group right now.

If male, you should be getting the occasional "light" conversations from some females in the group (just so happens you can ...
