Overview
Once you've joined the Dark Brotherhood, Nazir will start giving you contracts to kill various people scattered throughout Skyrim. Most of these contracts are optional (you'll only need to complete two of them during the Dark Brotherhood quest line), but they're usually quick, and you can earn up to 750 gold each for completing them. The contracts are described below.
Contract: Kill Beitild (1)
You'll receive this contract at the conclusion of the quest
Sanctuary. You'll find Beitild in Dawnstar, usually at the forge next to the Iron-Breaker Mine (during the day) or inside her house (at night). She'll always be alone in her house, so that's the best place to kill her.
Contract: Kill Ennodius Papius (1)
You'll receive this contract at the conclusion of the quest
Sanctuary. You'll find Ennodius living in a small camp just to the west of Anga's Mill. He'll be all alone there, so you shouldn't have any trouble dispatching him without anybody noticing.
Contract: Kill Narfi (1)
You'll receive this contract at the conclusion of the quest
Sanctuary. You'll find Narfi living on the western side of Ivarstead in a ruined house. He'll be by himself, and the house walls will block you from the view of the other townsfolk, so you shouldn't have any trouble killing him.
Contract: Kill Hern (2)
You'll receive this contract at the end of the quest
Whispers in the Dark, provided that you've already completed Nazir's earlier contracts (if not, then you'll need to complete them first). You'll find the vampire Hern and his wife Narfi living at Half-Moon Mill, located a short ways to the north of the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Hern will stay inside his house during the day and go outside at night, and his wife will do just the opposite, meaning you shouldn't have any trouble catching Hern alone.
Contract: Kill Lurbuk (2)
You'll receive this contract at the end of the quest
Whispers in the Dark, provided that you've already completed Nazir's earlier contracts (if not, then you'll need to complete them first). You'll find the Lurbuk staying at the Moorside Inn in Morthal. He'll sleep alone in his room every night, and that's the easiest place to kill him.
Contract: Kill Anoriath (3)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed Nazir's first two sets of contracts. You'll find Anoriath in Whiterun, usually at his stall in the market (during the day) or in his room at the Drunken Huntsman (at night). Anoriath will sleep alone in his room, so that's the easiest place to assassinate him.
Contract: Kill Deekus (3)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed Nazir's first two sets of contracts. You'll find Deekus staying at a camp next to the wreckage of Hela's Folly in the northern part of Skyrim. He'll be all alone in this camp, so you shouldn't have any trouble killing him.
Contract: Kill Ma'randru-jo (3)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed Nazir's first two sets of contracts. Ma'randru-jo will follow along with a caravan, so you'll typically find him wandering around Skyrim or camped outside one of the major cities. He'll always have people with him, so you'll have to be careful when you kill him.
Contract: Kill Agnis (4)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed Nazir's first three sets of contracts. You'll find Agnis hiding inside Fort Greymoor. Depending on where you are in the game, you'll either have to fight your way through bandits or Imperial soldiers to get to her. Agnis herself shouldn't be any problem to kill.
Contract: Kill Helvard (5)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed Nazir's first four sets of contracts. You'll find Helvard in the Jarl's Longhouse in Falkreath. The easiest time to kill him is at night when he retires to his room.
Contract: Kill Maluril (5)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed Nazir's first four sets of contracts. You'll find Maluril in a locked room on the northern side of Mzinchaleft (the first map of the ruins). The door will be locked, but you'll be able to open it by picking its "adept" lock, or by looting
Maluril's Room Key from the bandit waiting outside. Maluril himself shouldn't pose any more of a challenge than the bandits you had to kill to get to him.
Note: On a table in Maluril's room, you'll find the book
A Dance in Fire, v7, which will increase your Speech skill by 1. On a different table you'll find
Maluril's Journal, which will give you a hint as to why a contract was taken out on him.
Contract: Kill Safia (6)
You'll receive this contract once you've completed all of Nazir's other contracts. You'll find Safia on board the Red Wave, usually docked near the East Empire Company Warehouse south of Solitude (if the ship isn't there then just wait a few days for it to return). The named sailors in the ship won't attack you on sight, and some of them can't even be killed, so you should just ignore them. Safia will wander around the second level of the ship, and she'll often sit alone in rooms, making her easy to kill. If you can't catch her alone, then you can just talk to her, which will cause her to attack you, giving you free rein to defend yourself.
