Chasca is located in the Matano system of the Maroon Sea cluster. You'll be coming here for the "Investigate Samples" assignment, which will rename itself to "UNC: Colony of the Dead" as soon as you pull up to one of the structures located in the operational area.


1 - Arrival

The climate on Chasca is surprisingly reasonable and allows for the growth of plenty of green vegetation. As a result, you won't have to worry about the environment being hazardous if you need to leave the Mako.


2 - Plutonium Deposit

Survey this Plutonium deposit to get one step closer to finishing the "Rare Earths" section of the "UNC: Valuable Minerals" assignment and to earn a reasonable amount of experience and credits.


3 - Palladium Deposit

Survey this Palladium deposit to get one step closer to finishing the "Heavy Metals" section of the "UNC: Valuable Minerals" assignment and to earn a reasonable amount of experience and credits.


4 - Civilian Structure

The only thing you'll be doing inside this building is killing a group of Husks and then looting the crate and aid station on the first floor and the upgrade kit, wetware kit, and three storage lockers on the second floor.


5 - Civilian Structure

Eliminate the three Husks standing outside this building, then head inside to slaughter a small army of them. Once the killing is behind you, you're free to take what you want from the containers on both the first (malfunctioning object, sludge canister, locked crate, two crates) and second (weapon locker, upgrade kit, two aid stations) floors.


6 - Science Facility

Three Husks are stand around the facility's exterior while another dozen or so mindlessly patrol the interior. When all of the cybernetic creatures have been wiped out, you can use the terminal in the back room to retrieve logs suggesting that the Cerberus group intentionally infected the colonial pioneer team here on Chasca for experimental purposes. This information is all you need to finish the "UNC: Colony of the Dead" assignment.

Of course, there are some items to be had here. Check the medical kit, malfunctioning object, technician kit, wetware kit, locked crate, and secure weapon locker before leaving.


7 - Crashed Probe

Yet another downed space probe. Bypass and salvage.


8 - Beryllium Deposit

Survey this Beryllium deposit to get one step closer to finishing the "Light Metals" section of the "UNC: Valuable Minerals" assignment and to earn a reasonable amount of experience and credits.


9 - Research Camp

Next to this Prothean pyramid is a small research camp with a medical kit, technician kit, and two secure crates for you to ransack. There is also a standard crate that you can recover a Prothean data disc from, which you need for the "UNC: Prothean Data Discs" assignment.
