Background

During the task Speak to the Assault Victim, Titus (#1) will claim that Klaasje was raped by the hanged man, but Klaasje (also #1) will deny it. When you return to Titus, he'll claim that he has proof for his side of the story, and he'll offer you the tape Doorgunner Megamix. If you accept it from him, then you'll trigger this task.


Walkthrough

To listen to the tape, you'll have to find a working tape player. There are two in the game:

• Harmon Wowshi W02. You'll find this tape player for sale in the pawnshop (#2). For most of the game, Roy will charge you 12 real for it, but during this task only you'll be able to ask for a "police discount," which will reduce the price to 4 real if you have 4 Conceptualization, or 8 real otherwise. Then to play the tape, you'll just need to interact with it while also carrying the tape player.
  
  
• Stereo 8 Player. You'll find this tape player in your room in the Whirling-in-Rags (#1). You'll only be able to interact with it during this quest (and only then if you're not carrying the Harmon Wowshi W02). Supposedly, there's a way to repair the stereo using the Speakers from the People's Republic of Samara (purchased from Siileng, #3), but this never worked for us. When we clicked on the stereo, Interfacing told us that it wasn't repairable, and Kim simply suggested visiting the pawnshop. But since you can only interact with the stereo during this quest, there's probably a way to repair it, if you have the correct skills or items.

When you listen to the tape, you'll hear a voice (presumably the hanged man's) claiming that he's going to do all sorts of bad things once his job in Martinaise is done, including killing dogs and raping Klaasje. When you relay this information to Klaasje, she won't be surprised. She'll tell you that the hanged man, whom she'll refer to as "Lely," was always talking like that, that it was just a "running joke" for him.

When you return to Titus, he'll get mad that you weren't able to convince Klaasje to change her story, and then he'll get even madder when he learns that Klaasje simply laughed off the tape. This will complete the task and earn you 10 xp, and also trigger the task Get the Whole Story from Titus.
