Ares Engine Control

Walkthrough

Extinguish

Not long after entering the map, Pilot will inform you that Dr. DeSoto has taken over the cyber warriors in the area, and that they've turned hostile towards you. That is, the map will play largely the same regardless of which side you're on.

To complete the quest for this map, you'll need to fight your way to Frank Murphy (#5). Just before getting to him, Pilot will ask you to disable him rather than kill him. To do that, simply shoot the hazardous chemical tank in the room with him, and that will knock him out. Frank won't actually attack you or anything, so the quest objective shouldn't be a problem, and you'll receive 2 skill points for completing it.

Then you'll just need to click on the engine controls in the room to disable to bomb Frank attached to it, and you'll be ready to move on to Flash Engine Control (Exit B).

Liberation

If you're against Pilot, then the quest for this map is much simpler. You'll just need to fight your way to Frank (#5). When you get there, you'll automatically rescue him, and you'll receive 2 skill points. Then you'll get a message from Gina indicating that she's in Flash Engine Control (Exit B), and you'll need to rescue her next.

1 - Freight Elevator

2 - Cyborg Gauss Cannon

The Cyborg Gauss Cannon will fire through enemies, so it's a little more effective than its DPS might indicate.

3 - Engine Room

Like in the tutorial, you'll take radiation damage while you're in the engine room. The small compartments to the north and south of the room are safe spots, and the enemies inside the compartments will drop health packs, so you should be able to make your way through safely.

4 - Clara Sighting

5 - Frank Murphy

Exits:
  1. Transit car.
  2. Bulkhead door to Flash Engine Control.
