Background
When you win a game of gwent, you'll trigger this quest and receive
A Miraculous Guide to Gwent. The guide will let you know how you're doing in the quest.
Walkthrough
For this quest you'll need to collect a bunch of gwent cards. This process will take you through Velen, Novigrad, and the Skellige Isles. There are a few ways to gain cards:
- Quests. You can win (or otherwise receive) numerous cards during the quests
A Dangerous Game,
Following the Thread,
Gwent: Big City Players,
Gwent: Old Pals,
Gwent: Playing Innkeeps,
Gwent: Playing Thaler,
Gwent: Skellige Style,
Gwent: Velen Players,
High Stakes,
A Matter of Life and Death, and
Shock Therapy.
- Merchants (Buying). Several merchants will have cards for sale. These merchants include Bram (by the inn in
White Orchard), Innkeep (at Arinbjorn in
Ard Skellig), Innkeep (at the Crossroads inn in
Velen North), Innkeep (at Cunny of the Goose in the
Novigrad Outskirts), Innkeep (at the Golden Sturgeon in
Novigrad), Innkeep (at Harviken on Faroe in
The Skellige Isles Southeast), Innkeep (at the Seven Cats Inn in the
Novigrad Outskirts), Innkeep (at Svorlag on Spikeroog in
The Skellige Isles Northwest), Innkeep (at Urialla Harbor on An Skellig in
The Skellige Isles Northeast), Jonas (at Kaer Trolde in
Ard Skellig), Merchant (at the Circus Camp in the
Novigrad Outskirts), Merchant (at Claywich in
Velen West after rescuing him from bandits), Merchant (at Lindenvale in
Velen East), Merchant (at Midcopse in
Velen West), Olivier (at the Kingfisher Inn in
Novigrad), Quartermaster (at Crow's Perch in
Velen West), Stjepan (at Oxenfurt in
Velen North), and Trader (at Crow's Perch in
Velen West).
- Merchants (Playing). Just about every merchant in the game will play you for a random card. Luckily, there are more gwent-playing merchants than there are cards you can win, so you can miss some of these merchants and still collect all of the cards.
- Nobleman. If you beat the nobleman in the Royal Palace in Vizima, then he'll reward you with a unique card.
You won't receive a reward (other than all of the gwent cards) for completing the quest.
