Background

On the western side of some ruins in Velen South (#1), you'll discover a corpse with a Key to a Chest and an Unsent Letter. Reading the letter will trigger the quest.


Walkthrough

From the letter you'll learn that the dead man stole some loot from a temple and hid it in the ruins, not realizing that he have to deal with wraiths, including several level 13 wraiths surrounding the ruins and a level 15 noonwraith on top of the ruins.

Once you've defeated the wraiths (remember that Specter Oil and the Yrden sign are useful against them), you'll find the dead man's locked chest hidden behind a pair of barrels on top of the ruins. You might need to destroy the barrels (using the Aard) sign in order to interact with the chest. Inside the chest you'll find some random items.
