Background

You'll trigger this quest in Velen East when you stumble upon Gert Borel being attacked by ghouls (#1).


Walkthrough

After killing the ghouls, when you talk to Gert, you'll learn that he was transporting plague victims in his cart when there was an accident and the ghouls showed up. When you ask him how he got stuck working with the plague, he'll reveal that he seems to be immune.

You'll have two ways to complete the quest:

• You can let Gert continue his job without helping or interfering. You won't receive a reward, and Gert will probably end up spreading the plague by way of his cart.
  
  
• You can tell Gert that he needs to burn his cart. He'll eventually agree, and he'll ask you to do it. You'll then just need to use the Igni sign to set it on fire. This will earn you 20 xp total.
