Background

You'll receive this quest from the "Horse Races" note on the notice board in the Crow's Perch inner keep in Velen West (#1).


Walkthrough

For this quest you'll need to show up at the horse racing starting point after dark and talk to Radko the promoter (#2). You'll have three people that you can race, and beating them will earn you different prizes. In order of easiest to most difficult, you can race:

• Stuttering Matt. You'll win a Racing Saddle, 20 crowns, and 25 xp, plus whatever you bet.
  
  
• Iron-Arse Hans. You'll win Saddlebags, 30 crowns, and 25 xp, plus whatever you bet.
  
  
• Black Bogdan. You'll win Horse Blinders, 40 crowns, and 25 xp, plus whatever you bet.

For each race, you'll have to go to Blackbough (#3) and back. Your minimap will indicate the proper course. Deviating from this course by too much will cause you to lose. You can win these races without a saddle, but it's much easier if you have one since you'll have to do a lot of galloping to stay ahead of your opponent. Sometimes an obstacle will appear during the race, like explosive barrels or a log in the road, so you'll have to stay on your toes. After winning all three races, Radko and the three horse racers will disappear.
