Did we miss anything in this location? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!
This part of the city shelters an unusual number of temples, the most imposing being the Hall of Wonders, a structure built by the worshippers of Gond, god of the artifacts and inventions. All day curious gnomes wonder about and the priests of the temple fend them off. Also, the rich visitors are able to order copies of Gond's invention, although the building time and the cost are astronomical.
1- HOUSE:
Fenten: A dwarf who offers 250 gp. for all the Ankheg Shells you can bring him. The amount he buys is unlimited so your best course of action here is to drop all the shells but one and then talk with him. Repeat the process for every shell to get the maximum amount of gold. Note that the shells are quite heavy, so you'll probably not have that many of them at the time.
2- HALL OF WONDERS:
During the day: During the day there are a lot of visitors at the Hall of Wonders as well as numerous guards. It is not wise to steal anything since you'll be noticed and you'll have trouble getting out alive!
Brathlen: A priest who gives you a guided tour of the hall and explains the use of all the inventions exposed. At the end of the tour you can ask him questions and you'll discover that the hall is closed at night (although you can still access it) and that copies of the exposed artifacts take about 1 year to build!
Be'land: A priest who asks a donation of 1 gp. for the priests at the temple. At this time of the story you can probably spare that (yes, even if you're evil).
During the night: During the night things get pretty interesting. You can burglar the hall without being noticed by anyone! There is a Rogue Stone(2500 gp.) and a Star Sapphire(1000 gp.) to be stolen from their show cases. You can also steal the Telescope Brevlik wants. Meet him back at the Elfsong Tavern (Eastern part of BG) once it's done for your reward.
Alora: Alora (CG, Halfling Female, Thief) will be around the hall at night, plundering it just as you intend to do… If you tell her to get lost she'll leave forever. You can also accept to stand watch for her. Talk to her 2 more times and she offers to join your party. She is very good in lockpicking and pickpocketing, but she has a poor strength.
3- THE HIGH HALL:
Forthel August: A bard who wants to become famous but who is afraid to join an adventuring party because it is DANGEROUS out there. He is only interested by the fame and offers you 200 gp. in exchange of a story. However, whatever you tell him he is not satisfied and gives you 4 gp. for your efforts. He then leaves.
Priest of Gond (funny voice): He offers all basic services of a temple.
4- RAGEFAST'S HOME:
Ragefast: A mage who holds Abela the Nymph captive in his laboratory. There are many ways of dealing with the situation:
Talk him into releasing her: You can tell Ragefast that what he does is wrong and that he should prove his love for Abela by releasing her(choices: 2-2-1-2). He finally accepts and you get 2000 Exp. for doing so and Abela gives you a Lock of Nymph's Hair to show her gratitude. Take this lock of hair to the Sorcerous Sundries and exchange it for a Nymph's Cloak (+2 Charisma) with Halbazzer Drin (Eastern part of BG).
Kill Ragefast: He is a good mage but your archers should nail him with ease. You get 2000 Exp. for killing him, Amulet of Protection +1, Knave's Robe and Wand of Paralyzation off his corpse. You can then release Abela(see above) for some more experience and a Lock of Nymph's Hair or capture her if you are on Ramazith's quest. This is the best choice since you'll be able to release her later and then kill Ramazith for some good experience.
5- DUN:
An ex-merchant who gambled too much and lost everything. He has some information but nothing useful.
6- THE LADY'S HOUSE:
Chanthalas Ulbright: He offers all the basic services of a temple. Also, if you require the Tome of Wisdom for Jalantha Mistmyr (see Southern part of BG for more details) he gives it to you if you tell him that you'll die without it.
Agnasia: Bring her Kereph's skull from the Three Old Kegs (see Northern part of BG for more details) and she'll gladly remove Ghorak's curse. You get 1000 Exp. and +1 Reputation for doing so. You can then go back to Ghorak's house in the Souhtern part of BG to see him healed but you get nothing more.
7- VARCI ROARINGHORN:
Asks that you follow him and talk with his guardian, a Lord Priest of Tymora, about an urgent matter. He refuses to talk about it further on the street. His guardian can be found at location (8).
8- HOUSE:
Tremain Belde'ar: He is Varci's guardian and also a Lord Priest of Tymora. He asks you for your help to retrieve the body of his son Casson from the Water Queen's House. It appears that Varci and Casson wanted to explore the temple and got caught. The Bitch Queen servants captured Casson and killed him. Tremain asks you to bring him his body so that he can revive him. You can find the Water Queen's House in the Southern part of Baldur's Gate (see that section for more details). Once you bring him Casson's body he resurrects him and then leaves after a conversation.
Varci: Talk with him once you have brought Casson's body to his father Tremain. You get 5000 Exp., 2000 gp. and the Large Shield +1, +4 vs. Missiles for doing so. Varci also tells you that should you ever be in need of help the Tymorans will stand by your side.
