Overview
1 - Skeleton
You'll find some
10mm Rounds and a
10mm Pistol on the ground next to the skeleton here.
2 - Overseer's Journal Fragment
You'll find an Overseer's Journal Fragment (page 64) on the desk here.
3 - Skeleton (Upper Level)
You'll find a copy of
Fixin' Things on the ground next to the skeleton here.
4 - Terminal (Upper Level)
The terminal will give you some background information on the vault, including that it has suffered flooding and reactor damage. Next to the terminal you'll find a
10mm Submachine Gun.
5 - Staircase (Upper / Middle Level)
6 - Hole (Middle Level) / Systems Room (Lower Level)
You'll be able to use the hole to drop down to the lower level. In the room below the hole (the Systems Room), you'll find a first aid box, some
10mm Rounds, and a
10mm Submachine Gun.
7 - Diner (Middle Level) / Living Quarters (Lower Level)
Inside the diner you'll find a first aid box, plus a
Patriot's Cookbook, a
10mm Submachine Gun, and a
Lead Pipe (on the ground next to a skeleton). Inside the living quarters you'll find a
Patriot's Cookbook (on a desk).
8 - Staircase (Middle / Lower Level)
9 - Operations Room (Lower Level)
The door to this room will start out inaccessible, but it will open when you explore the nearby underwater room (#10). Inside the Operations Room you'll find a first aid box, a copy of
Fixin' Things, and a
10mm Submachine Gun (all on the ground).
10 - Submerged Staircase (Lower Level)
If you swim down into the room this staircase leads to, you'll discover a dead vault technician (under a desk). On his body you'll find the Vault 34 Security Terminal Password, which will allow you to unlock a terminal in the Armory (#17). Exploring the underwater room will also cause the door to the Operations Room (#9) to open.
11 - Living Quarters (Lower Level)
Inside this room you'll find a copy of the
Milsurp Review (on a desk).
12 - Clinic (Lower Level)
Inside the clinic you'll find a first aid box, an "average" wall safe (containing lots of
Rad-X and
RadAway), a
10mm Submachine Gun, and a Broken Mk III Auto-Doc. The auto-doc is involved in the quest
Et Tumor, Brute?
13 - Destroyed Room (Lower Level)
Inside this room you'll find an Overseer's Journal Fragment (page 65).
14 - Utility Room (Lower Level)
Inside this room you'll find a "very hard" terminal. If you can't hack the terminal's security on your own, then you'll need to swim underwater (at #15) to get the password for it. The terminal will allow you to activate the vault's pump station and drain the nearby submerged staircase (#15). Next to the terminal you'll find some
10mm Rounds and a
10mm Pistol. Also in the room you'll find some
Vault 34 Security Armor and a
Vault 34 Security Helmet.
15 - Submerged Staircase / Doorway (Lower Level)
When you first enter Vault 34, you'll find a submerged staircase here, and descending it will take you to an underwater room containing a dead vault technician. On the technician, you'll find the Vault 34 Utility Terminal Password, which will allow you to unlock the terminal in the Utility Room (#14). After activating the pump station (via the terminal at #14), a doorway will appear here, and going through it will transport you to a dry version of the area you just explored (#16).
16 - Doorway
Going through this doorway will transport you to the main part of the First Floor (#15).
17 - Security Office
Inside this office you'll find a "very hard" terminal. If you can't hack the terminal's security on your own, then you'll need to pick up the password from a submerged part of the vault (#10). The terminal will allow you to unlock the way to the Reactor (Exit C). Next to the terminal you'll find an Overseer's Journal Fragment (page 66). You'll also find some
Vault 34 Security Armor and
Vault 34 Security Helmets in the room.
18 - Overseer's Office
Inside this office you'll find the Overseer (a ghoul), a first aid box, and the Overseer's terminal. To use the terminal, you'll either need to hack its "very hard" security, or you'll need to pick up the Overseer's Password (from the Overseer). The terminal will allow you to unlock a door in the Armory (#24).
19 - Security Office
Inside this office you'll find a
Milsurp Review (on a desk next to a terminal).
20 - Ruined Room
Inside this room you'll find a
10mm Submachine Gun (on a table), a
Doctor's Bag (on the floor), and a copy of
True Police Stories (also on the floor).
21 - Machine Room
Inside this room you'll find a first aid box and a terminal. The terminal is involved in the quest
Hard Luck Blues. Using the terminal will allow you to enter the Reactor Room (#22).
22 - Reactor Room
When you get far enough into the room, you'll hear glass breaking, and two vault technicians (ghouls) will appear in the machine room (#21). You'll also find a terminal in the Reactor Room. This terminal will allow you to complete the quest
Hard Luck Blues. You'll need the Overseer's Password (#18) to use the terminal.
23 - Break Room
Inside this room you'll find a first aid box and a copy of
Guns and Bullets (on an end table).
24 - Locked Door
To unlock this door, you'll need to use a terminal in the Overseer's office (#18).
25 - Armory
Inside the armory you'll find a good selection of equipment, including 16 ammunition boxes, two
Grenade Launchers, two
Sniper Rifles, two
Assault Carbines, a
Marksman Carbine, a
Riot Shotgun, a
Missile Launcher, a
Minigun, an
All-American (on the overturned table), and a
Pulse Gun (in the "very hard" locked gun case). If you can't open the lock on the gun case, then you'll need to pick up
Col. Blackwell's Key (from Pearl's Barracks in the Nellis Air Force Base).
Exits:
- Door between the First Floor (Lower Level) and the Armory (Security Station A).
- Door between the First Floor (Lower Level) and the Reactor. To unlock this door, you'll need to use a terminal in the Armory (#17).
- Door between the First Floor (Lower Level) and the Armory.
- Wasteland exit.
