Overview

The Old Mormon Fort is located in Freeside, near the northern entrance.


1 - Watch Post

You'll usually find Beatrix Russell sitting here. She'll give you some funny advice, and she's involved in the quest Wang Dang Atomic Tango.


2 - Courtyard

During the day you'll find Julie Farkas wandering around the courtyard (at night she'll be sleeping in the western tower, #5). Julie will introduce you to the Followers of the Apocalypse, perform regular doctor duties, sell you some items, and give you the quest High Times. She'll also mention that the Followers are always in need of medical supplies, and she'll give you two ways to help out:

• Donating. Julie will ask you to donate whatever Fixer, Med-X, and RadAway you can spare. Each time you donate, you'll earn 10 xp per med, plus some fame with the Followers of the Apocalypse. After donating enough meds to become liked by the Followers, Julie will add several skill magazines to her store stock. After donating enough meds to become idolized, you'll receive 300 xp and a discount from Julie, and Julie will offer to let you join the Followers. If you accept, then you'll receive a Followers Lab Coat and a Followers Safehouse Key (which will allow you to enter the Followers Safehouse, located between Freeside and Jacobstown).
  
  
• Securing a regular source. Julie will tell you that the Followers need a regular source of medical supplies, and she'll suggest that you check in with some of the merchants around Freeside. The only one that will help out is James Garret in the Atomic Wrangler. He'll offer to keep the Followers supplied with alcohol if they agree to upgrade and maintain his stills. To complete this deal, you'll just need to talk to Julie, then talk to Garret, and then talk to Julie again. For your efforts, you'll receive 300 xp, fame with Freeside and the Followers of the Apocalypse, and a discount from Julie.

Note: Although Julie will offer you a discount twice, it's the same discount. You won't get a doubly-good deal.


3 - Tent

Inside this tent you'll meet Farris, Roy, and Wayne. They're involved in the quest G.I. Blues.


4 - Tents

You'll typically meet Arcade Gannon in one of these two tents. He's a potential companion, and he'll join you if you pass a Speech 75 check or if you join the Followers (see #2).


5 - Western Tower

This is the tower where Julie Farkas (see #2) lives. Inside you'll find a copy of Today's Physician (on a desk) and a Snow Globe - Mormon Fort (on a shelf).


6 - Eastern Tower

You won't find anything of interest inside this tower.
