Background

You'll receive this quest from Julie Farkas in the Old Mormon Fort in Freeside.


Walkthrough

Julie will ask you to help out two addicted Followers of the Apocalypse, Bill Ronte and Jacob Hoff. You'll find them in Freeside, Bill in the ruined building next door to the Atomic Wrangler (#2) and Jacob in the ruined building across the street from Mick & Ralph's (#3). When you talk to them, they'll both tell you that they're hooked on special concoctions created by a drug dealer named Dixon (#4). When you talk to Dixon, he'll claim that the situation is "hilarious" because Bill and Jacob are from the NCR.

To complete the quest, you'll have to do three things:

• Deal with Dixon (#4). You'll have three options for this. You can pass a Speech 35 check, you can pay Dixon 300 caps, or you can kill him.
  
  
• Cure Bill (#2). After dealing with Dixon, when you talk to Bill, he'll tell you that he needs 2 doses of Fixer, a dose of RadAway, and a bottle of Whiskey to cure his alcoholism. With Science 50, you'll be able to remove the RadAway from the cure. With Speech 50, you'll be able to convince Bill to kick his habit without meds.
  
  
• Cure Jacob (#3). After dealing with Dixon, when you talk to Jacob, he'll tell you that he needs 10 doses of Fixer to cure his addiction. With Science 50, you'll be able to reduce this cure to one dose each of Buffout, Fixer, and Psycho. With Speech 50, you'll be able to convince Jacob to kick his habit without meds.

Note: If you need extra Fixer, then you can purchase some from Dixon (#4) and the bartender on the main level of the Gomorrah Casino in the New Vegas Strip.

After completing these three tasks, when you return to Julie you'll gain 500 xp plus some fame with Freeside and the Followers of the Apocalypse. Julie will then tell you that with Jacob back to normal, the Followers can spare some supplies, and once a game day she'll be able to give you a free Fixer, RadAway, or Stimpak.
