Overview

1 - Bridge

This is where you'll find Joker.


2 - Yeoman Chambers

Chambers is your administrative assistant. She'll tell you when your crewmates would like to talk to you, and when you have messages on one of your private terminals (#4). You'll also be able to flirt with Chambers a little (regardless of your gender), but she's not a romance option.


3 - Galaxy Map

This is where you'll get to choose a destination for the Normandy. Unlike the original Mass Effect, it will cost you fuel to move between planetary systems. You can buy fuel at fuel depots, which are located in all systems with a mass relay. If you run out of fuel during a trip, then you'll be charged some Palladium, but you'll be transported to a system with a fuel depot.


4 - Private Terminals

You'll be able to use your private terminals to check on the status of your crew, review any upgrades that you've purchased (from #5), read messages, and watch combat training videos. If you watch all three videos, then you'll gain an achievement.


5 - Lab

This is where you'll find Mordin once you've recruited him. You won't be allowed into the lab until Mordin has boarded the ship.

The main thing you'll be able to do in the lab is research upgrades for your weapons, your crew, and the Normandy. You'll have to find or purchase research topics to make them available, and you'll have to spend rare resources to actually utilize them.


6 - Briefing Room

This is where you'll report to the Illusive Man.


7 - Armory

This is where you'll find Jacob. You'll also be able to use the weapons locker in the armory to choose weapons for your character.


8 - Medals Case

This is where you'll be able to review your achievements.


9 - Starship Display

During the course of the campaign, you'll find a variety of starship models for sale. If you purchase any of them, then this is where you'll put them on display.


10 - Fish Tank

During the course of the campaign, you'll get a few opportunities to buy fish, and this is where you'll keep them. You'll need to feed your fish every so often to keep them alive. If you become friendly with Yeoman Chambers (#2), then she'll eventually volunteer to feed the fish for you (after the mission The Justicar).


11 - Armor Locker

This is where you'll get to choose which types of armor to wear, and what color your armor should be.


12 - Main Battery

This is where you'll find Garrus once you've recruited him. You won't be allowed into the battery until Garrus has boarded the ship.


13 - AI Core

This is where you'll find Legion once you've recruited him. You won't be allowed into the AI Core until Legion has boarded the ship.


14 - Medical Lab

This is where you'll find Dr. Chakwas (who was also in charge of the medical lab on board the old Normandy). If you talk to her and ask her if she needs anything, then she'll mention that her new lab is just like her old one -- except that she's missing her "special reserves," including a bottle of Serrice Ice Brandy. If you agree to look for some brandy for her, then you'll gain the assignment "Serrice Ice Brandy."

You can find a bottle of Serrice Ice Brandy in four places:
  • At the Afterlife Club on Omega (on a counter).
  • At the Dark Star Lounge on the Citadel (on a counter).
  • At Ratch's Wares on Tuchanka (available through the kiosk).
  • At the Eternity Bar on Illium (you'll have to ask the bartender for a drink before the drinks kiosk next to her will become active).
Regardless of where you purchase the brandy, it will cost you 1000 credits.

When you return with the brandy to Dr. Chakwas, she'll offer to split the bottle with you. When you accept, you'll reminisce for a while about the past, and you might even learn more about why Dr. Chakwas joined Cerberus. But eventually you'll propose a toast, which will end the conversation. Dr. Chakwas will then pass out on one of the beds, and the room will sway around a bit for you. For your reward, you'll unlock an upgrade for Medi-Gel Capacity and earn 40 xp.


15 - Miranda's Cabin

This is where you'll find Miranda.


16 - Mess Sergeant Gardner

If you talk to Gardner and ask him what he needs, then he'll tell you that he can't do a whole lot with standard military provisions, and he'll ask you to pick up a few things the next time you're on the Citadel. If you agree to keep an eye out, then you'll receive the assignment "Special Ingredients."

You'll find High-Grade Provisions for sale at the Zakera Cafe on the Citadel. They'll cost you 500 credits. After purchasing the provisions, when you return to Gardner, he'll thank you for your help, and you'll earn 40 xp. Gardner will then offer you some calamari gumbo, but it won't make any difference if you take a bite or not.


17 - Starboard Observation Deck

This is where you'll find Samara once you've recruited her. You won't be allowed into the observation deck until Samara has boarded the ship.


18 - Life Support

This is where you'll find Thane once you've recruited him. You won't be allowed into Life Support until Thane has boarded the ship.


19 - Port Observation Deck

This is where you'll find Kasumi once you've recruited her. You won't be allowed into the port observation deck until Kasumi has boarded the ship. If you examine the interactive objects in the room (like the rose and the painting), then you'll learn more about Kasumi.


20 - Port Cargo

This is where you'll find Grunt once you've recruited him. You won't be allowed into the port cargo hold until Grunt has boarded the ship.


21 - Starboard Cargo

This is where you'll find Zaeed once you've recruited him. You won't be allowed into the starboard cargo hold until Zaeed has boarded the ship. All of the interactive objects in the hold (like the garbage compactor and the surveillance terminal) are simply there for show. You'll need to download Zaeed's DLC for him to make an appearance.


22 - Sub-Deck Staircases


23 - Sub-Deck

This is where you'll find Jack once you've recruited her. To reach the sub-deck, you'll need to use one of the nearby staircases (#22).


24 - Tali's Station

This is where you'll find Tali once you've recruited her.


25 - Engineering Station

This is where you'll find the engineers Daniels and Donnelly. If you talk to them and ask them if they need anything, then they'll mention that T6-FBA couplings would save them a lot of maintenance time each day. If you agree to look for the couplings, then you'll receive the mission "FBA Couplings."

You'll find Nashan Stellar Dynamics T6-FBA Couplings at Kenn's Salvage on Omega (Sahrabarik / Omega Nebula). They'll only cost you 500 (or 416) credits. When you bring the couplings back to Daniels and Donnelly, you'll receive 40 xp, and you'll get invited to a game of Skyllian-Five poker. If you agree to play, then you'll either win or lose 100 credits. If you use a renegade or paragon dialogue options, then you'll win 500 credits.
