Walkthrough

When you scan Sinmara (Solveig / Caleston Rift), you'll detect that the research station there is having problems with its magnetic shielding, putting the local colony at risk from "unstable solar activity." You'll then receive the assignment "Endangered Research Station," which will task you with putting the station back in order.

To repair the station, you'll have to bypass the control terminal (on Platform 2), and then you'll need to activate the cooling unit, the shield generator, and then the shield control (in that order, all on Platform 3). Activating the terminals should not be difficult (only one of them will even need to be hacked); you'll just need to make sure that they're powered first by using the control switch (also on Platform 3) until the yellow power lines are pointing at the terminal you're trying to turn on.

Once all of the terminals have been activated, the station's shields will power back up, and you'll be returned to the Normandy.
