Background

To get the Minos Wasteland to show up on your galaxy map, you'll need to purchase Star Chart - Minos Wasteland from the Baria Frontiers kiosk on Illium.


Walkthrough

When you scan the planet, you'll detect a distress beacon coming from a mining facility, which will trigger the assignment "Abandoned Mine." Then when you land at the mining facility, you'll find it swarming with husks, and you'll have to fend off major attacks as you approach the Artifact Room. As always when dealing with husks, it's a good idea to use incendiary ammo along with a submachine gun, an automatic rifle, or a shotgun.

As you explore the mining facility, you'll learn that the miners were attracted to an "alien machine," which eventually turned them into husks. To save the facility, you'll need to make your way to the Artifact Room, and destroy the artifact by shooting the two bombs next to it. Once you've done that, the mission will end and you'll be returned to the Normandy.

Note: Depending on the difficulty setting you're using, the husks might or might not eventually stop spawning from the Artifact Room. If they never stop spawning, or if you start to run out of ammunition, then you should just run past the husks and blow up the artifact. That's the easiest way to handle the mission regardless (although by using this route you'll lose out on 450 credits from the locker near the artifact).
